LuxDern was contacted to make a stand for an antique cash register drawer. The stand was made from solid mahogany by hand. It orcorporated custom turned legs with a bottom shelf. The customer asked that the stand look like it has some age. So the end grain on the turned legs was not sealed to allow the stain to appear darker as if dirt and debris set into the finish of the legs. Also the shelf was left with a little gap to simulate the expansion and shrinking of the wood over time and the boards pulling away from each other. This product turned out wonderful and the customer was happy with the out come.
